Noah's Ark has been rescuing potbellied pigs for over eight wonderful years. We have seen every facet of the effects abuse and abandonment produce on potbelly pigs and the response and trust that comes from the rescue pigs from the care and affection we provide. The rescue pigs live in an open herd sanctuary in a natural environment. The potbellied pigs share their affection amongst themselves and all who come by to visit.

'Become a Horse Angel'

H.O.R.S.E. Inc. & Feathered Friends
5236 International Ave
Mim's FL    32754

The Angel Program was established help horses in need by assisting rescue organizations in their mission of helping horses.  Horses come from auctions, kill buyers, brokers, have been abandoned, and some come from owners that no longer want them or can no longer care for them due to illness, job loss and home foreclosures.

Often, a rescue organization has to pay to get the horse out of its desperate situation and then pay to transport the horse to their location.  This alone is costly.  These horses have likely been neglected and/or abused and once they are safe, they are in dire need of vet, farrier, and dental care which is also costly.

Then come the expenses that come with every horse; feed, supplements, vet bills, chiropractic, wormer's, etc. contact:  Paula Carver 321-383-9636 e-mail horsehelpers@yahoo.com visit H.O.R.S.E. "Paint a Picture of the Animals"
In honor of Florida Week for the Animals!

~An official Florida Week for the Animals event~

If you want to paint a picture of Florida you would have to include animals - both wild and domestic. We are asked to do that with Florida Week for the Animals.
Thanks to FloraHome for helping get word out!

From theme parks to state parks and sometimes right at the foot of our own bed, those of us living in Florida don't have far to go to find animals of every decription, but sometimes it takes a special reminder like Florida Week for the Animals to consider what life would be like without all the other species of this planet. So get outside this week and take the family - and take the poop scoop.

Paint a picture of a finned, feathered or furry friend, or if you have room in your heart and your home for one more, there are animals here in Florida in need of both. Visit Website ! Artwork can be donated to local shelters, humane societies, orgs, businesses libraries and schools. For more ideas on displaying, call 877-454-0807.

Pet Food Pantry Day for the Needy of Central Florida

Pantry Location:
7800 S US HWY 17-92 Ste 174
Fern Park, Fl. 32730

Central Florida Animal Pantry (CFAP) helps provide pet food assistance to the economically challenged, disabled and the elderly citizens of Central Florida.

With Central Floridians facing job lay offs and foreclosure many families are feeling hopeless and unable to care for their companions. Not knowing what to do many will abandon the family pet. Our shelters and rescues are overwhelmed with surrendered animals. This is not healthy for the family, the
pets, or the shelters.

Through the efforts of C.F.A.P. and community sponsors we are able to provide pet food and low cost services to the pet owners in the hope that they will be able to keep the family together through this difficult time.

The Pantry is currently in desperate need of dry dog and cat food. Donations can be made at Pookie's and Petco in Altamonte, West Colonial and Sanford locations. Phone:321-252-CFAP(2327).http://www.animalpantry.org/

A variety of dogs and cats will be available for adoption in the lobby from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition, a variety of baked goods will be on sale. All proceeds will benefit the pets at Broward County Animal Care and Regulation.

To kick off the event, Broward County Commissioner Ilene Lieberman will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. in the Governmental Center lobby where she will emphasize the importance of adopting a shelter pet. In addition, she will discuss the successful partnership between Broward County Animal Care and local pet rescue organizations.

"For years Broward County Animal Care has partnered with rescue orgs to care for sick or injured pets and to help find a home for our shelter dogs and cats. Through their support and dedication, the County is able to find more homes for more pets, so we encourage all citizens to take the time to adopt a pet and support your local shelter and rescue groups," said Commissioner Lieberman, who is a longtime pet advocate.
