Noah's will  do an educational setup between the 6th of Feb and the 14th of Feb. On the 13th of Feb. we will set up at the Country Oaks Vet Clinic for the Blessing of the Animals, organized by All Creatures Sanctuary . We will take one of our young pigs to show people how they can actually be trained and how sentient they are.    http://noahsarkpbprescue.tripod.com/

Noah's Ark PotBelly Pig Sanctuary is located on 30 fenced acres  in New Port Richey, Florida.  Our Pig Rescue Sanctuary is on the beautiful west coast of the state, just northwest of the Tampa Bay area and a few hours drive from Disney World Theme Parks.

Noah's Ark has been rescuing potbellied pigs for over eight wonderful years. We have seen every facet of the effects abuse and abandonment produce on potbelly pigs and the response and trust that comes from the rescue pigs from the care and affection we provide. The rescue pigs live in an open herd sanctuary in a natural environment. The potbellied pigs share their affection amongst themselves and all who come by to visit.

All rabbits, after being nursed into optimum health by knowledgeable volunteers and—when necessary—local vets, are spayed and neutered before being placed up for adoption. GRR volunteers screen all adopting families to insure these rabbits will be placed in a secure and loving home.  Learn much more  at  http://www.gainesvillerabbitrescue.org/

Pet Food Pantry Day for the Needy of Central Florida

Pantry Location:
7800 S US HWY 17-92 Ste 174
Fern Park, Fl. 32730

Central Florida Animal Pantry (CFAP) helps provide pet food assistance to the economically challenged, disabled and the elderly citizens of Central Florida.

With Central Floridians facing job lay offs and foreclosure many families are feeling hopeless and unable to care for their companions. Not knowing what to do many will abandon the family pet. Our shelters and rescues are overwhelmed with surrendered animals. This is not healthy for the family, the
pets, or the shelters.

Through the efforts of C.F.A.P. and community sponsors we are able to provide pet food and low cost services to the pet owners in the hope that they will be able to keep the family together through this difficult time.

The Pantry is currently in desperate need of dry dog and cat food. Donations can be made at Pookie's and Petco in Altamonte, West Colonial and Sanford locations. Phone:321-252-CFAP(2327).http://www.animalpantry.org/

Buddy Unchained ---FL Libraries ---Books donation

Leon Main Library
LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System
200 West Park Avenue
Tallahassee, FL 32301

Gryphon Press is donating Buddy Unchained books to the Leon Library system where the state capitol, Tallahassee is located in beautiful northern Florida. Thank you for the compassion and leadership of Gryphon Press for the donation and Mary Douglas, children's director for her compassion and kindness.

Leon County promotes community events and  consistently offers animal books in storytelling sessions. The LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System enriches the community by inspiring a love of reading, providing a dynamic resource for creative and intellectual pursuits, and enabling residents to live a life of learning. Our community discovers the joy of reading, the energy of ideas and the power of information together in the library. http://www.leoncountyfl.gov/LIBRARY/

Buddy Unchained: What is life like, day after day, for a dog kept outdoors in all weather on a chain or a rope, alone all day—a dog whose owners, for the most part, forget that he’s alive? Buddy, a lovable mixed-breed dog, has had such an existence.
Happy in a new home, Buddy tells the story of his former life of neglect, abuse, and finally, rescue, to live a good life with a family that cares about him. Information is included for parents and other adults about resources they can readily contact when they encounter a dog being abused.

REVIEW
“Buddy Unchained is a deeply moving look at a dog abandoned and adopted, a bittersweet tale of empathy and respect for a deserving puppy who has finally found a good home. The illustrations are utterly endearing and vibrant with the pain, joy and compassion they express. The story is simple yet of vast importance, and at the end we want nothing more than to make sure that all the Buddys of the world are loved and cared for like this patient, easy-to-please pup.

Event is family-oriented format includes art, craft and business vendors, lots of great food, beer & wine, a children’s activity area, and always a few surprises! Many stores/restaurants remain open for this popular neighborhood street party, so put on your dancing shoes and come on downtown to party with  friends. Admission and parking are free, bring your lawn chairs.

The vision of Save the Chimps (501c3) was -- and remains -- to create a sanctuary where rescued chimpanzees can live out their lives without the threat of ever returning to a laboratory, entertainment, and the pet trade. By 2002, 28 chimps called Save the Chimps home, but knowing there were more chimps in need , Dr. Carole Noon anticipated the construction of a second island, the rescue of more chimps, the formation of another social group. She expected to grow slowly but surely over time. Learn much more about this wonderful org at

Human Billboards Workshop with Rae Sikora

Herndon Branch Library
4324 E. Colonial Dr.
Orlando, FL 32803
(407) 228-1410

We are all walking billboards. Our words, actions and lifestyles...even our thoughts...project a message out into the world. What does your personal billboard say to the world? Are you living a life that reflects who and what you care about? How can you redefine your personal message and your effect on the world around you? This workshop/talk will provide tools for exploring ways to move toward a message that is more consistent with our values.

Rae Sikora has been a spokesperson for animals, the environment, and human rights for over 25 years. Her innovative programs have been changing people’s vision of what is possible to create in our lives and in the world. Rae has worked internationally with participants ranging from teachers, students, businesses and activists to prisoners. As co-founder of the Center for Compassionate Living and The International Institute for Humane Education, Rae created interactive critical thinking tools that are now being used by teachers around the globe. Recently Rae has co-founded http://vegfund.org/

This workshop is free and open to the public, and a free lunch will be provided!

GREAT, Inc  Meet and Greet!

MUVICO
18002 Highwoods Preserve Parkway
Tampa, FL 33647-1765

GREAT, Inc. is a non-profit greyhound rescue and adoption organization located in central Florida.  We find homes for greyhounds that can no longer compete in racing. GREAT has placed over a thousand greyhounds since 1990.

Although we are not affiliated with the racing industry, we do receive our dogs from the trainers &owners who want to place retired racers in private homes. We also take in stray greyhounds that have been surrendered to shelters.

The greyhounds we receive are evaluated through our foster care program.  Foster care provides a temporary home for the greyhound during its transition from track to home.

Come and meet the greyhounds!  For more information please call (813) 971-4732. (Please call 813-971-4732 if you are interested in becoming a volunteer! )

CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm
Be An Animal's Valentine!

CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm
5728 Jones Creek Road
Keystone Heights, FL 32656-7227

Looking for a new partner to take long walks with, stare into their eyes, and receive unconditional love from? Then select one of our rescued horses, dogs, cats, goats, pigs, or other farm animals and show your new valentine how special they are!

During your "first date" with your new companion you'll be involved in training, feeding, grooming, health-care, or socialization. In addition, you'll likely "go back to their place" and assist in animal quarters' maintenance and grounds management.

This is a perfect way to pal around with a pig, hang with a horse, talk turkey with (what else) a turkey, or gab with a goat! You'll not find a more-interactive animal volunteering experience anywhere on the First Coast.

NOTE: Space is limited and must be reserved by emailing us at
info@cj-acres.com at least 48 hours prior to a session. If accepted, a confirm email will be sent within 12 hours of your request. Only individuals 18 years or older who receive a confirmation may attend.  cj-acres.com
